"SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. "

SkillsUSA is always very active, in and around the community. We have projects going on every week.

Recent events include:

On Wednesday Dec. 5th SkillsUSA Celebrated our annual Fun day to celebrate the first semester coming to an end and the kickoff of the District contest competitors being chosen. Students were encouraged to pay their student memberships to TCCTC all year.

The celebrations included fun activities that the students had the priviledge to participate in, including cornhole, Zombie shooter training, movie and hot chocolate, basketball and football toss, four square, Playstation 4 tournment, and a tire rotation contest. Popcorn and drinks were provided, courtesy of SkillsUSA. We appreciate all of our student volunteers and sponsors.

Christmas Spirit abounds at TCCTC on Dec. 4, Skills USA officers and students from the cosmetology and masonry classes volunteered their services to the Labor of Love Mission’s White Christmas program. Students filled White Christmas bags with toys, personal care items, school supplies, and backpacks; these materials will be given to designated families before Christmas in a continuing effort to brighten the holidays for those in need.

Cosmetology instructor Sarah Cooke says representatives from each TCCTC shop class plan to return to the mission next week to provide further assistance, weather permitting.
